Demi Moore celebrated the start of the 2022 Cannes Film Festival by posting a photo on her Instagram account in which she appears at the festival accompanied by her then-husband, Bruce Willis.
The protagonist of “Ghost” shared the image with the following message: “From the Cannes archives, around 1997”, to which the actor’s current wife reacted, who wrote: “Everything feels. Beautiful.”
In the snapshot, Moore is seen wearing an elegant black dress with a red floral cape, while the father of her three daughters opted for a classic black tuxedo.
Moore and Willis were married from 1987 to 2000 and welcomed Rumer Willis, 33, Scout Willis, 30, and Tallulah Willis, 28.
Both actors have maintained a friendly relationship after their separation, even, the same year they separated, the protagonist of “Sixth Sense” told Rolling Stone magazine that he still loved Demi and that they remained close.
“I still love Demi, we are very close. We have three daughters who we will continue to raise together, and we are probably closer than ever now. We realize we have a lifelong commitment to our daughters. Our friendship continues. The institution has been pushed aside… It’s hard to live your life and your marriage under a magnifying glass, which is what happens to movie star couples,” she said at the time.
Almost a decade later, in March 2009, the actor married Emma Heming Willis and Demi Moore was invited to the celebration. The couple had two daughters, Mabel, 10, and Evelyn, 8.
Moore and Heming Willis have formed a close bond over the years, even quarantining together during part of the coronavirus pandemic in 2020.
Earlier this year, Moore made it clear that she has nothing but love for her ex-husband by posting a picture on her Instagram account wishing him a happy birthday. “Happy birthday Bruce! Grateful for our merged family,” she wrote.
Weeks later, Bruce’s wife and daughters announced that he was giving up his acting career after he was diagnosed with aphasia, a condition that affects a person’s ability to communicate.
In a joint statement, also signed by Moore, the actor’s loved ones said it was a “really challenging time” for all of them.
“We are moving forward in this as a strong family unit and we wanted to engage his fans because we know how much he means to you, as you mean to him,” the March 30 statement continued.
A source revealed to US Weekly magazine that the actor feels “blessed” to have the support of his family in his battle against the disease.
“Everyone is working together, and that’s what matters,” the source said. “Emma, the girls and Demi are all coming together to be there for Bruce and make sure he gets the best possible treatment. Emma has been an absolute rock. Not a day goes by that Bruce doesn’t tell her how lucky he feels to have her in her life,” she assured.
