Horror is one of the highest-grossing genres in cinema, as it opens the possibility of traveling to new worlds full of adrenaline caused by scares and paranormal situations.
The remainder of 2021 will have scary premieres that are worth seeing; some belong to an already established universe and others are new proposals that could leave their mark on the genre.
A Quiet Place 2
After more than a year of delay, on June 10, 2021, A Quiet Place 2, the sequel directed by John Krasinski, will hit theaters.
The film will follow the story of the Abbott family after the death of their father and they will have an encounter with more survivors of the attack of creatures attracted by noise.
The Conjuring 3: the devil made me do it
The Conjuring 3 It is the eighth installment of the Warrens’ cinematic universe. This film follows a man accused of committing murder after being possessed by a demon.
The new film is directed by Michael Chaves, who previously directed The Curse of La Llorona, but it is produced by James Wan, original creator of the universe. It will hit HBO Max on June 4.
The Purge: Forever
The Purge Forever It is the fifth and final film in the franchise in which any crime is legal for one night.
In this new story, some groups did not respect the end of the purge and continue with the murders a day later. It will star the Mexicans Tenoch Huerta and Ana de la Reguera. It opens on July 2.
The Green Knight
Starring Dev Patel, directed by David Lowery and produced by A24, The Green Knight It is one of the most anticipated films of the year. After several delays, it will premiere on July 30.

After 4 years, director Edgar Wright (Scott Pilgrim, Shawn of the Dead, Baby Driver) returns to the cinema on October 23 with Last Night in Soho with Anya Taylor-Joy and Thomasin McKenzie
Wright has a hallmark of comedy, but in this new installment he will explore horror with a story of a young woman who has time leaps through a mirror to London in the 60s, but the time is not what it seems.
candy man is directed by Nia DaCosta and was written by Jordan Peele (Us, Get Out). It is a direct sequel to the 1992 horror film.
The story follows a mysterious murderer who uses a hook and became a legend in the town of Cabrini Green in Chicago. The premiere is scheduled for August 27.
No Breathe 2
In the first part of Don’t breathe, the blind man Norman Nordstrom, Stephen Lang’s character, proved to have exceptional qualities for torture and murder when molested at home.
In the new installment, Nordstrom lives in a cabin raising a girl, but must leave the place when his protégé is kidnapped. It will hit the movies on August 13.
Escape Room 2
As in the first movie, a group of people will receive an invitation to prove their intelligence in an escape room, which is actually a death trap and there can only be one survivor.
It is directed by Adam Robitel, who was also in charge of the preview, and will hit the screen on July 16.
After the successful Halloween 2018, David Gordon Green and Danny McBride wrote a direct sequel to make the twelfth installment of the franchise Halloween.
Mask killer Michael Myers will return with more bloodlust to haunt Jamie Lee Curtis on October 15.
After spending several years away from directing in horror, James Wan will return to the genre that consolidated him with Malignant next September 10 to HBO Max.
There is little data on the film, but it is known that it will address the story of two women who flee from an evil entity and explore a side of terror that James Wan has not yet shown.
Old is the new M. Night Shyamalan film with Gael García Bernal and Alex Wolff (Hereditary). The story will portray a group of characters trapped on a rapidly aging island.
The premiere was scheduled for January 2021, but ran to July 23, making it one of the most promising releases of the summer.
The Night House
Rebecca Hall will play a widow who uncovers dark secrets about her husband and home when left alone until she encounters a ghostly presence.
The film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and received positive reviews. The premiere will be on July 16.
