Actress Rebecca Jones formed one of the most solid marriages in the artistic world with fellow actor Alejandro Camacho. They were married for more than 20 years and had a son, Maximiliano Camacho Jones. In addition, the famous couple shared credits in many soap operas such as The fallen angel (1985), cradle of wolves (1986), the devil’s smile (1992), crystal empire (1994) and To love again (2010).

In 2011, when they announced their divorce, they took the public by surprise, but they maintained a cordial relationship with each other to support them in the face of any difficulty, such as when Jones revealed in 2018 that she had ovarian cancer, a condition that she has survived.

However, although both have tried to stay out of each other’s lives, it was precisely a statement from her ex-husband about his illness that has made the actress stop.

The romance between the actors occurred at the beginning of the 1980s, after both coincided in some productions such as Treachery Y Angelica. The chemistry between them was so evident that it was not difficult for them to tackle the love scenes.

Finally in 1986 they decided to take the next step and came to the altar to say yes. Together they experienced the loss of two babies, some work crises and even a brief separation. But the relationship had an expiration date and this was finalized in 2011.

Jones has said that there was no conflict between them. “I think that marriages of so many years reach a point where it is not because of a lawsuit that you separate, it is not that there was a fight, but it was a time to think about things differently in marriage. . I think neither of us were happy“he said on the show The minute that changed my destiny in 2018.

Months later, in the same program, Camacho spoke about the divorce with Jones. “When things don’t work out, you can’t assume guilt feelings for not making the decisions you need to make.. Men fail (…), perhaps (lacked) maturity, from which I flee, I do not want to be mature, I refuse.

When Jones was on tour with the play oh my god please make me a widowthe actress began with the first discomforts and discomfort in the abdomen, so she underwent a medical examination in which they gave her bad news: she had cancer.

“After studies, the doctors determined that I have a tumor in my left ovary and that I have to be treated immediately. I am a strong woman, my other organs are healthy and strong, my heart, lungs, kidneys, everything is in excellent working order and that is a lot in my favor,” he revealed to the Program windowing in 2018.

The treatment worked and a few months later the actress from the spoiled joined their activities. The possibility of her dying also made her reconsider some of her past, such as the relationship she had with Alejandro, and she decided to stop talking about him.

“We get along very well, obviously we don’t see each other every day because that’s why one gets divorced, we don’t have a bad relationship. Although what I have to say about him, in addition to being a great actor and great artist, is that he is a great Dad,” he said July 2021 to Talina Fernández.

Although they insist that there is respect and cordiality between the two, mainly for their son, in mid-August the lack of communication between them became evident and at the insistence of the reporters who approached him, he spoke of an unknown subject for the actor of the prodigal daughter.

“Rebecca is perfectly fine. Rebecca is working, she is healthy. Indeed, he has cancer. Yet she is such a strong woman. She has so much strength, she’s perfect. I haven’t seen her for a long time, but she is working, she is healthy. I saw a photo of her three days ago, and I see her beautiful, whole. Very good, strong, admirable,” she said.

Now it is Jones herself who has come out to deny a possible relapse and, incidentally, downplay the words of her ex-husband. “I found out and I think my word is worth more.”

In a meeting with the press upon her arrival at the Mexico City International Airport (AICM), Rebecca showed that she does not have any communication with Alejandro. “If you want to give more weight to what a person who does not live with me says…, who is indeed the father of my child but he does not live with me nor does he know anything about my life, nor does he have an opinion about my healththen there you”.

I don’t think he did it with bad intentions, he just doesn’t have an opinion, it’s a fact. I don’t think about him because I don’t know his life.Rebecca Jones

She also took the opportunity to remember that the cancer she suffered is not something that defines her, nor is it a topic that she wants to be talking about forever. “In this life no one has bought life, it’s what they don’t understand, it’s as if they were asking about an accident you had five years ago, ‘oh, what’s up, are you still carrying that car you almost killed yourself in?’ Life is not bought by anyone, so death should not surprise us so much, and when it touches us, let it touch us.”
